The 80's!

One week ago Cabe and I attended a party at a friends house, kudos to them for such a great idea! It was to be an 80's themed party, with prizes for the best dressed, 80's games, food, drink and a great group of people. We were invited and immediately we were thinking of outfits, was I going with Madonna, punk, sixteen candles or Demi Moore in St. Elmo's fire. Was Cabe going for Don Johnson on Miami Vice or... well... Don Johnson on Miami Vice, so I guess his was known from the begining! I borrowed a pair of awesome hot pink leg warmers, and bought a cute black dress and belt that I had my eye on for something else and then went crazy at an annoyingly cheap costume jewelry store with pink earings (that almost touched my shoulders), pink bracelets, and necklaces. The night finally came and my outfit was perfect, all I had to worry about was my turquoise and pink eyeshadow and hot pink lipstick and blush. Then came the hair, since I couldn't curl or crimp my hair I just fliped my head to the side and sprayed hairspray until it stopped moving! We got there and Chris and Kristin had certainly hit the 80's nail on the head, everyone else looked great too, the person that won first place had shaved his head in true mohawk style, and I ended up with second place!

It was loads of fun, other then the unfortunate quarter bounce drinking game, all I have to say is, don't play that when your drinking wine! ;-)

You look great.

Cabe: Don Johnson never wore jeans. Or K-Swiss, for that matter. Isn't "pegging" your jeans more like 1990?

Oh, and sorry it took me a few days to find this post.

I thought this blog was dead.

I swear I remember cuffing and rolling my jeans in high school.

Oh Mark, I felt that jab about the dead blog all the way out here in Michigan! :-)
Everybody at the party had "pegged" their jeans, and all except me had been in high school through the 80's. Although, I do have to say that I argued that it was a 90's thing for about a week!

Like rolling your jeans was like a totally 80's thing... like totally.

Mark is right about the jeans and K-Swiss. You needed linen pants and loafers.

Melissa you look totally OOC, like Oh My God!

My look wasn't any particular year of the 1980's but a combination of great looks throughout the decade. You may not be able to see it in this picture but I even had a diamond earring. Left is right, right is wrong.

I thought it was-"Left is right and right is gay!"

We are going to have to do the early 90's next month so Cabe can wear the same outfit and not be out of date....geekness has no expiration date!
