Snowplow service on a day like today?
$60 association fee.
Shovel to get the snow off of the driveway?
$12 at Lowe's
Watching my 7 pound dog try to pee when the snow is as tall as her?
Priceless!

The UAW strike!
I get so frustrated because I think the UAW, particularly Ron Gettlefinger, are a HUGE part of why the American car industry is doing so poorly! I for one would love to see the foreign car company's, that are doing so well, have their workers form a union similar to ours and watch them go down hill at the same time. I think that's what it would take to show some concrete evidence to the UAW. They say that they're big quam is the "Job Security" what exactly is that for them though? Is that just for now, or would they like to make some scrifices now so that they have jobs at all or so that the future generations will have jobs too! Sometimes you have to make some cuts for the greater good. As of now when you get an entry level job working for GM with the UAW you START OFF making $22.00 and hourplus benefits that they don't have to pay into. GM is asking them to take that down and I don't think that unreasonable. I know that when I started of in the workforce I didn't start off with that. I think you have to work up to that. The starting pay for most companies is minimum wage which is I think about $14.00 less then that. CRAZY! Okay so I'm ranting now but I have to go, I am not done though and will be posting with more factual information later.

The 80's!
One week ago Cabe and I attended a party at a friends house, kudos to them for such a great idea! It was to be an 80's themed party, with prizes for the best dressed, 80's games, food, drink and a great group of people. We were invited and immediately we were thinking of outfits, was I going with Madonna, punk, sixteen candles or Demi Moore in St. Elmo's fire. Was Cabe going for Don Johnson on Miami Vice or... well... Don Johnson on Miami Vice, so I guess his was known from the begining! I borrowed a pair of awesome hot pink leg warmers, and bought a cute black dress and belt that I had my eye on for something else and then went crazy at an annoyingly cheap costume jewelry store with pink earings (that almost touched my shoulders), pink bracelets, and necklaces. The night finally came and my outfit was perfect, all I had to worry about was my turquoise and pink eyeshadow and hot pink lipstick and blush. Then came the hair, since I couldn't curl or crimp my hair I just fliped my head to the side and sprayed hairspray until it stopped moving! We got there and Chris and Kristin had certainly hit the 80's nail on the head, everyone else looked great too, the person that won first place had shaved his head in true mohawk style, and I ended up with second place!
It was loads of fun, other then the unfortunate quarter bounce drinking game, all I have to say is, don't play that when your drinking wine! ;-)

How Time Flies!
I am in my kitchen cleaning while listening to a CD titled "The Newton-Morphew Wedding", which has, by the way, great music on it. It got me thinking though, when Josh and Salena got married, Cabe and I had just celebrated the birth of our first son and then our 2nd/3rd wedding anniversary :-), my best friend had just celebrated her first wedding anniversary and another good friend from elementary school was just starting her last year of med school. Since then we have 2 kids, 2.5 and 3.5, Heather just had her daughter's second birthday party last night and is pregnant with number 2, another girl. Her and Dave will be celebrating 5 years this summer. My friend Ginger is almost done with her first year of residency at a great hospital, Royal Oak Beaumont and is happily married. Also, my sister and her husband gave birth to the first girl in the family since me and she just turned two! I just can't believe that it's been long enough for all of that to happen! Can you believe that Cabe and I have known each other for almost ten years and have been married for almost 6/7 years. Just in case somebody who is reading this doesn't know, Cabe and I were married twice, September 15th of 2000 and 2001. Anyway, I am just amazed, you hear all of these horror stories of people getting married and thinking their lives are over after just a couple of years but, I couldn't ask for anything better. I have loved it all, the ups and downs, the friends and family, everything!
Thanks Josh and Salena for the trip down memory lane. :-)
